- The link above contains links to videos, documents, slideshows, and other resources that are intended as "Grammar Gap Fillers" for you to consult. Grammar is always an area in which many students struggle, so these resources are intended to give you a refresher on concepts you may have forgotten about or possibly struggled to understand before. The majority of the ideas in these ideas will be addressed in more detail in class, so I would highly advise perusing these resources as you are able.
- Effective research is one of the most important skills that students should master if they wish to ensure their success in high school, college, and the world at large. With the increasing deluge of false information reported and shared in both traditional and social media outlets, it is more important than ever that students understand how to determine the credibility of a resource and how to synthesize this information into new knowledge.
- Ever spent all night studying for a test only to find that you were completely unprepared for it once the papers were staring at you the following day? In all likelihood, this struggle you're facing has less to do with your own intelligence and much more to do with the way that you are taking notes and studying. Click on the link above to find resources that will help you improve your study skills and keep you better organized this year.
- Writing can be one of the most frustrating experiences in the world sometimes, but when you do it right it can also be one of the most rewarding. One of the main reasons that people struggle with writing, though, is a lack of practice, a lack of reading, and a lack of familiarity with certain key conventions. Whether it be a research paper, a short story, or even a full-fledged novel, every piece of writing will need to go through multiple drafts and multiple steps to become the amazing work it deserves to be. Click on the link above to find resources that will break down different parts of the writing process for various audiences and purposes.
