Diigo: Online Annotating and Outlining
- What is it? Diigo is a phenomenal educational tool that allows you to annotate anything you read on the Internet or in PDFs. All highlights or sticky notes you create using the extension are automatically backed up to your Diigo library. These individual annotations can then be subcategorized using hashtags to group similar items together. It is hands down one of the best extensions created for research.
- When should I use it? Got a research paper to complete? Use the highlighter tool to note key pieces of information. Have a website you want to save and come back to later? Use the extension to bookmark the page to your Diigo library. Eyes getting tired from reading and endless series of words on a plain white background? Use the highlighter and sticky notes to keep track of your progress and break up the monotony of your reading assignment. Honestly, the better question is "when should I not use it?" and the answer is: never! Diigo is awesome!
- Any restrictions? None that I've ever come across, and I am an active user of Diigo. The site allegedly limits you to so many annotations on a free account, but I've yet to reach that limit and I doubt you will either.

- Any restrictions? A free Evernote account limits your note taking to only two devices, but since most of you will only be using it to take notes on your phone and a computer, this shouldn't affect anybody too terribly.
- What is it? A link to two self-paced online courses that you can access to better facilitate your understanding of effective searches using Google. These two courses will teach you ways through which you can maximize the quality of your results when using Google as your primary search engine.
